We’ve received this update from Mairead about the last COG’s event!
Yesterday’s sale was very successful. We had excellent help from 12 of our regular church members plus Dora, Mark & Chiara, Katrina from Emirates Arthritis Foundation, and 10 people from Lola in Volunteers in Dubai – who are now a very welcome and much needed part of this sale. We needed this help since we had a wide range of items and it was our busiest sale for months. This followed an equally productive Sort on Wed when 15 people helped over 2 hours.
Donations of clothes were given to a wide variety of camps in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi and Holy Trinity Church. The money raised will go to our usual charities.
Some of last month’s soaps and creams ended up in orphanages in Kenya and Ethiopia via Pastor Dinesh. Women’s and children’s clothes were shipped to Kabul orphanages where 20,000 families are assisted.
We look forward to seeing you all again. Your continued help and kindess is very much appreciated and the number of people who benefit increases monthly.
And finally – sadly – this month we say goodbye to committee member Darlene who has been a wonderful help over the last 2 years. She has assisted at most events and has stepped in and taken charge on many occasions. We wish her well in her UK venture.
