Charity News – Kwasa Centre

Catching up on some of the more recent charities correspondence that has been passed on to me by Steve and others…  the following email is another from Kwasa Centre and was received earlier this year from Sharron Dinnie.

Dear Stephen

Greetings at the start of 2011 on behalf of St Peter & St Paul and The Kwasa Centre.

Please would you thank the Chaplaincy Charities Committee for their tireless efforts at fundraising. I am very aware that the financial/economic climate last year made it difficult to raise funds – and am therefore doubly grateful to the Committee and all who participated in fund-raising efforts for their hard work and generosity.

The academic year began for us this last week. Kwasa Pre-Primary re-opened with 120 children registered for 2011. Our bursary/sponsorship programme now has 86 children attending Strubenvale Primary and WerdaPrimary, and 4 older girls at High School.

The money you have donated will be used to cover/part cover:

  • the cost of a cook (300 meals are provided at Kwasa each day)
  • the cost of fuel for the vehicle used to transport the children to-and-from school, and
  • resource materials for the pre-primary and after-care children (paper, crayons, glue, scissors, poster paint etc.).

I have attached a few pictures taken this week of some of the children in the pre-primary school, and the sponsorship children in their school uniforms.

These are the children who are benefitting from your commitment and generosity. I continue to thank God for you all and your support in helping to make a difference in these young people’s lives.

With love and prayers

Sharron.

  1. What great pictures. It has lifted my heart to see their smiling faces and don’t they look immaculate? Lovely.
